Amalfi, Italy

Time to recap what was probably one of the best trips ever!

(As always, I will link every detail of our trip at the bottom of this post!)

After pretty much what I would call our worst traveling experience ever – we got delayed due to a strike with Eurowings, which delayed us around 6am, all the way until 1pm. Now just imagine how irritating that is as a single person alone in an airport, and then imagine it with a toddler, that you woke up to get to the airport on time only to find out all the flight crew were on strike that day. It was misery. Although I will say the only positive was that we have access to the lounge because of our priority passes, so at least we got free food and drinks!

So after that all happened, we got to Naples airport, found our lovely taxi driver Bruno, who drove us all the way to Amalfi (around 90 minute car ride) who even stopped on the top of a mountain to get us fresh, lemoncello ice cream on our way to our AirBnB. So the trip started off rocky, but once we got to Italy, everything was a DREAM.

We checked into our AirBnB which was actually in Atrani, about a 7 minute walk from Amalfi which is the super touristy area. Personally I would stay in Atrani again! It was super nice to be a little bit away from all the loud restaurants and tourists.

The next morning, we woke up early, packed up a bag for the day and headed to our boating excursion. I was so excited for this as it was our big activity of the trip, however with a toddler, i had NO IDEA how this was about to go. I was really worried he was going to get really scared, or sea sick, but he did AMAZING! He even took a nap on the boat! WIN! This allowed Robbie and I to enjoy a few hours of just us time, which is always a huge plus.

We stopped in Positano, shopped around and had a quick lunch, and then headed back onto the boat for the rest of our coastal tour where we snorkelled and swam in the beautiful blue waters.ÂĄ

The next day we did a beach day in Amalfi at the beach club. For a whopping €30 you get an umbrella, a waiter, towels, two beach chairs right on the water. The building attached was a Michelin Star where we ate lunch! It had AMAZING seafood, according to Robbie (I really wish I liked seafood but I don’t!)

Lachy absolutely loved the beach, and playing with all the rocks along the coast. It was such a plus to be at a more quiet part of the area, where we got to know some of the smaller restaurants and people of the town while we stayed there. Very unique and special experience. We would go back in a heart beat! (The one cafe isn’t even on google maps but is located under the last arch in the bridge in Atrani and the owner was hilarious and it was the best pizza we had!)

How adorable are these cars!?

One of my favorite parts of the trip because of my big love and obsession for anything lemon flavored was the lemon tour! The views from the top of the farm mountains were amazingly stunning. Almost the entire farm was vertical, so they use a lot of manual labor and animals to help do the work. It was unlike anything I’ve ever seen and ohhhh boy were we SORE the next day from walking up a mountain.

Eeeek! I just loved this trip. Europe is so fun because so many different cultures and countries are SO close together so it really has been an experience I will never forget.
