Happy December! I cannot believe how fast this year has actually flown by. Lachlan turned One 2 weeks ago and we celebrated just the three of us due to covid. I originally was being cautiously optimistic about the entire thing, and had sent out invites to our close circle, and then I knew the right thing to do would be to cancel it and have everyone stay home. The covid surges just keep getting worse and more scary. But, we still had a blast on Zoom and got to see everyone sing him a happy birthday. I had been planning the decorations and theme for months so it was a hard decision to cancel, so we are planning on celebrating it…HOPEFULLY….in person,  this spring for his half birthday.

I can’t believe our baby is one! It was a crazy year, but the best year of our lives! He is babbling, so close to walking, and crawling. He loves to snuggle and also to be rambunctious with dad. He is so fun! 

 

Ive seen a few “camp” themed birthday parties on Pinterest and I think its such a cute idea, so we went all out with the decor. I bought a bunch of felt and wood from Michaels and did all the banners and tents with it. I’ve been pretty excited to do my kid’s first birthday since the beginning of time, and covid was not going to ruin that fun for me so we still decorated everything and celebrated the day as if we had all our friends and family visit. 

Okay I made this cake…can you guys believe it? Okay good because me either! I got the little figurines off amazon and they were so perfect for the woodsy theme.

Well, there we have it. Our baby’s first birthday, we celebrated with him, rain or shine!
